Center for Advanced Psychoanalytic Studies
The CAPS DII Mission
The primary function of CAPS is to provide and support twice-yearly meetings where clinical and psychoanalytic work is carefully presented and discussed by seasoned practitioners. Thus, CAPS is not a political organization in focus or practice but is rather a clinically oriented body designed to foster psychoanalytic discourse at its broadest and deepest levels. We welcome a diversity of identities in our membership. With a more diverse membership, we intend to enrich our analytic depth and scope, particularly regarding understanding as they are involved in transference-countertransference dynamics. In its vision most broadly, CAPS aspires to be attuned to the richness of humanity found in the identities of its members. As an organization, CAPS is committed to growing and developing the diversity, identity, and inclusion of its membership, enriching the horizons of psychoanalysis itself.
